St. Francis Society Animal Rescue

On March 08, 2010, a cat named Hope was added.

St. Francis Society Animal Rescue is an all volunteer, non-profit 501-c-3 animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of sick, injured, and stray domestic animals as well as spay/neuter and medical services for those animals. We seek to place animals in a loving foster or permanent home after recovery and we DO NOT euthanize unless terminal illness necessitates such a decision. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, tested for leukemia/FIV (cats), wormed and vaccinated before they are adopted.

Special Animals 1

We love all the animals that come into our care but sometimes our hearts are especially moved by those that have a special need. Hope is one of those animals. Hope, a 4 year-old white-as-snow cat, lives in a mostly dark world. A scary place to live for a cat dumped and left to fend for herself. But, a spunky survivor, when given the right amount of love and attention, Hope begins to trust again and lets herself purr. The hope for a forever, patient and loving home was the genesis of her name. With only 10 percent of her eyesight, Hope would do well in a single cat home with no children and an experienced cat parent. Her rescuer, a St. Francis Society Animal Rescue volunteer, says she’s a sweetheart, given a chance. If you want to turn the simple hope of a forever home into a reality for this well-deserving cat, come see her at our Citrus Park Petsmart adoption center or fill out a contact form.

Title In The Spotlight

St Francis is proud to be a partner with BIG CAT RESCUE in Tampa.  They are a non profit educational sanctuary, devoted to rescuing and providing a permanent home for exotic (i.e. wild, not domestic) cats who have been abused, abandoned, bred to be pets, retired from performing acts, or saved from being slaughtered for fur coats, as well as educating the public about these animals and the issues facing them in captivity and in the wild.

If you love cats you owe it to yourself to take a tour of their incredible facility. No where else can you get up close and personal with big cats like you can at Big Cat Rescue. It is something you will enjoy and certainly recommend to anyone that loves animals. Watch the video to see how St Francis Rescue and Big Cat Rescue teamed together to help an orphaned Bob Cat cub....

Title Help

St. Francis starts where others stop. We are unique because we are not a shelter, but a collection of dedicated volunteers who take animals into their own home to foster. We don't put animals down unless unless there is a strong reason, such as illness. We find loving homes for the unwanted, abused, abandoned and sick/injured animals in our community. We can't continue our mission without your help! We desperately need foster homes for cats and dogs and donations to help with vet bills for these animals.
